Meet Us

Hello! We are Charles and Elizabeth. We met as high school sweethearts and have been happily married for eleven years. We are unable to have children, but we have a six year old daughter, Madison, who we adopted at birth. Charles and I are so excited to make our dreams come true through another adoption journey and complete our family by adopting a baby. The strength that got us through many years of infertility before we adopted Madison was realizing that we are destined to be adoptive parents.

Our Families

Charles and I come from very close, strong families. Both Charles and I grew up in military families which afforded us a lot of different life experiences as we both moved around the world. Our families are also very excited that we have decided to follow our hearts and adopt another child as some of them are adopted as well. They can't wait to welcome another baby into the family. Madison asks about a baby brother or sister everyday and can't wait to be a big sister. Charles and I feel that it is important for Madison to have a sibling and can't imagine growing up without one. Madison will have a very special bond with her sibling since they are both adopted. Charles has a sister and I come from a family of three siblings. I have two brothers and a sister. As adults we are still very close with our siblings even though we do not all live in the same town. My sister and her husband are the godparents of Madison and Charles and I are the godparents of their three boys.

Our Home

We live in Yorktown, Virginia. We own our home on a cul-de-sac with a big backyard and a playground in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It is a wonderful place to raise a family and there are lots of children to play with. We are also very close to the York County Sports Complex and we have the best schools in the area. We are near the beach, and the mountains are only a few hours away for snow skiing in the winter which is a family favorite. We already have a nursery set up and ready for our baby.

Our Work

Charles is a Manager at a Department Store and I work part time as a leasing consultant for an apartment community. Since I only work a few hours a week, when Madison is not in school my Mom watches her and they a very close relationship.

Our Free time

Charles enjoys playing sports such as basketball or golf. I enjoy making crafts and scrap booking. Our favorite thing to do is spend time as a family. We really enjoy having new experiences with Madison and seeing things through her eyes for the first time. We give Madison the opportunity to choose different activities that she wants to be involved in. She enjoys soccer, ballet and gymnastics. We plan to let our child try different activities and decide what his or her interests are.

We also love to travel. We have taken trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee to go horse back riding and white water rafting. We go up to DC to visit my sister and go to the farms and go apple and peach picking. Last year we took Madison to Sesame Place and Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. Last month we took Madison to Disney World for the first time. (The third time since we have been married. I LOVE Disney World!)

We also have some family traditions. Every year we go to the farm and pick our pumpkin right off the vine for Halloween. We also like to go snow skiing in the winter. This is my favorite sport. I taught Charles how to ski and we plan to teach Madison how to ski this winter.

Our Hope

Choosing us as the adoptive parents of your child would complete our family. We both have longed to have another child and we are excited to welcome a new baby into the family. We promise to instill good morals, to provide a secure environment, to raise him or her in a home filled with unconditional love and laughter, and to tell him or her how much his or her biological Mommy and Daddy loved them and wanted good things for them and also how special you are for opening your hearts to us.

Our Compassion

We know that this is not an easy decision to make and we are honored that you are taking the time to consider us to be the Adoptive parents of this very precious gift. It takes a really special person to choose adoption for their child and we admire you for being so generous and strong in making this decision. We are so grateful that there are people like you that are so unselfish in this world and without you our dreams would never come true. This is the greatest gift you could ever give us. Our prayers are with you as you go through this emotional time. We wish you good luck with your journey and hope that we will be able to meet you someday.
